Pippa is overwhelmed by fear and worry about her weekly times tables tests. Unable to sleep, and followed by the huge shadow of `the test,' things finally come to a head one day at school. Fleeing her classroom, Pippa is led by the magic butterfly to a world where she must learn to face her fears or forever be lost, unable to get home.
Who is this strange creature she meets on the way and can she help them both get home by facing the challenges, and her fears, on their adventure?

Inspiration for the series
This series was created in response to issues my daughter had following a house and school move. This particular book was written as my daughter were exhibiting signs of concern and anxiety (refusing to go to school, sleep disruption, not wishing to leave me alone etc) about her times tables tests in year 2, and I wanted to address the issue in a way she could understand and relate to.

I aim for this series to be used, as I have, as a conversation starter and way for children to deal with difficult or stressful situations. It also lends itself to a simple pleasure read.

Main selling points:
-
It has been used with positive results already
-
It draws on a theme and emotions familiar with all children
-
It is not country specific and thus could be used across the world.
Word count:
3900 and 6000 words
Text features:
• I would be happy to create lesson ideas / plans if these were deemed helpful. In this case web links for Teacher Plans (with tech support) would be required.

Why would `Pippa’ be attractive to readers?
Having spent 18 years reading PSHE books for children, running SEAL and circle time and various other emotional coaching sessions, I recognise that the books currently available tend to be condescending, too `obvious’ (thus loose children’s interest) and simply lacking in depth / adventure. The Pippa stories, whilst teaching anxiety reduction techniques and emotional awareness, do so in a fun and exciting way. Children will want to read (as opposed to having to as part of a lesson).

Additional selling points:
• It has been used with positive results already
• It draws on a theme and emotions familiar with all children
• It is not country specific and thus could be used across the world.
